Report: Flyers star Claude Giroux arrested in Canada

Philadelphia Flyers star Claude Giroux reportedly spent the night in a police cell in Canada, according to a report in the Ottawa Sun.

Though details of the incident have not been released, the Sun reports Giroux was taken into custody after repeatedly grabbing the buttocks of a male police officer, and that alcohol may have been involved.

The Flyers organization has not publicly commented on the alleged incident, which is said to have taken place at a bar in the Byward Market section of Ottawa.

The team’s Twitter account did release a one sentence ‘statement’ from general manager Ron Hextall that read, “We are aware of reports surrounding Claude Giroux. Until we have more information, we will withhold making any further comment.”
